# Could I style myself "His Excellency", "Earl", "Baron", or "The Right Honorable"?

Other people would be under no obligation to use your titles. You might have to fight a lot of duels.

Yes.

Members of the federal Cabinet and Senators are “The Honourable” for life.

Members of the Commons (MPs) are simply “Honourable members” of the Commons, but not “The Honourable”.

And I suppose a Socialist Canadian Senator would never be called the “Left Honourable” because Socialist Senators would have to fight the rhinoceros for seats.
