# Could Lithium Explain — and Treat — Alzheimer’s Disease?

As I recall, the advice that exercise is protective against Alzheimer’s was first documented in Alzheimer mice, then confirmed in humans. They were using mice with “only exercise” as the control arm of a drug experiment, and found that the “only exercise” mice got less Alzheimer’s than expected.
