Could Net Neutrality be what finally does the GOP in?

I doubt it strongly for a lot of reasons.

The rank and file GOP member probably doesn’t know much about Net Neutrality except that it’s “regulation”. People inclined to care about Net Neutrality are mostly young and tech savvy, and such people are much less likely to be GOP voters anyway.

I doubt that the worst possible future painted by Net Neutrality proponents will really come to pass.

Individual bad actions by various internet providers will pretty easily be painted as those companies being bad, not as the regulatory framework being bad.

Besides, the steel tariff is looking far more promising.

While I don’t think that Net Neutrality will be what brings down the Republicans, I will say that Google is not someone I would want as an enemy.

Hehehe! Well said.

Really? I’d say that Google does not want the American Government as an enemy.

The entire American government, united under capable leadership? Yeah, that’s not an enemy you want. A few fragmented sections of the American government, whose leaders were hand-picked for their inability to pour piss out of a boot with the instructions printed on the heel? I wouldn’t worry.

Please. They’re able to justify Russian collusion, obstruction of justice, money-laundering, sexual predation, and violation of FEC laws. Compared to that five-course meal, Net neutrality is a light snack.

I would agree that innovation and information does not want a government for an enemy. For those that want to keep America great, the current administration is the enemy. Google/knowledge/educaton is one weapon, and perhaps the best way to do so.
