I always see posters making passing references to **ZPG Zealot** being insane, backwards, possibly dangerous, and - it seems - part of some strange cult. Yet I have never actually seen any posts from this poster that suggest that - other than the latest suggestions of abolishing the family unit and raising all children in group homes. What’s the deal with **ZPG Zealot?** ---

I’m going to move this thread to the Pit. You should know by now, **Argent Towers** , that calling out another poster and/or asking others for possible negative opinions about them never goes well and should be made in that forum rather then MPSIMS. ---

Some people get hostile when they can’t impose their beliefs on others. I’m proud of my Roma heritage and I don’t compromise my values for anyone. I am anti-adoption, pro-family, and I believe population countrol is the best way to create stable societies. ---

Yeah, I couldn’t get the SDMB search engine to bring it up, but she derailed a thread that was originally asking how Orthodox Jews deal with the proscription against being around menstruating women in modern society (I think) and somehow turned that into a multi-page rant about how shaking hands in a business society is equivalent to rape. ---

She believes that a man offering to shake a woman’s hand is the equivalent of rape. She believes that adopted children should never, ever call their adopted parents “mom” and “dad” and that the adopted children should constantly be reminded that they are not the biological offspring of their adopted parents, lest those children develop emotional attachments to their adopting parents. She believes that “adopters” are lurking in the bushes (literally) to kidnap children away from biological families. She believes that parents don’t need to show their children love, or even love their children, because love is often damaging. There’s also some stuff about parents of two different cultures giving birth to vampire children, but I wasn’t a part of that. A forum search should give you hours of background. ---

Personally, I don’t think being an advocate of zero population growth makes one a sociopath. I think her sociopathy is separate from that belief. Oh, I forgot about her belief that unmarried women who get pregnant do so deliberately to trap men, and should be forced to have abortions. If they don’t, she believes it’s justified if the father kills the baby. ---

IIRC, she also believes that if abortion were outlawed, infanticide would be an acceptable alternative. Real, actual infanticide. And breastfeeding is evil, or something like that, and women who do so are perverted. ---

Well, actually, I can see increased infanticide being an _inevitable_ (or at least highly likely) outcome of a strict abortion ban, but I assume when she said it, it was nutty. ---

I don’t see any evidence she’s a sociopath. Nuts, sure; emotionally damaged, quite possibly; a troll, entirely possible as well, though it’s been kept up for too long for that to be likely. But “sociopath” is a completely different thing. If you told me she was a paranoid schizophrenic, that I’d believe. It’s somewhat telling that her reaction is “I’m not afraid of my Roma heritage,” when of course people wouldn’t know if she was Roma or Rwandan and, let’s be honest, don’t give a shit (most people don’t know what a “Roma” is, anyway.) But that’s typical of paranoia - the assignment of other people’s opinions to conspiracy theories. A lot of her opinions are paranoid as well; the belief almost all men want to rape her, that there’s kidnappers everywhere, and various other beliefs that rest on the assumption that almost everyone is evil and out to get her. That isn’t sociopathic, it’s paranoid. ---

Sociopaths can be paranoid, too. My suspicion of her sociopathy comes from her inability to understand that people have emotional bonds. Even when she’s talking about her wonderful extended family, she talks about how parents loving their children is damaging because love isn’t necessary to create a functional adult. She also cannot comprehend that adoptive parents could love their adopted children, and vice versa. And no, I’m not diagnosing her. I’m simply stating that many of her statements about relationships, whether familial or otherwise, indicate an inability to comprehend emotional connections. ---
