Which of course means that it’s not just a bridge to build, but mid-ocean hotels, gas stations, etc.

Easy! Build a giant ferry where when you drive onto it from one shore you start driving toward the other end, by the time you get to the other end of the ferry it has arrived on the other shore and you drive off without ever having to stop.

Perfectly practical and eliminates the need to have the bridge span the entire length.

Even better: drive your car onto the ferry and stop, saving you gas and wear, and the need for supersonic 200 mile long ferries.Oh and maybe enclose your car in some kind of standard sized *container *to protect it from the elements and facilitate handling and storing. The ferry will continue to move towards the other shore, and you simply take your car[go] off the other shore without having to spend all your time cooped up , driving.
