Well, then (as I see it, YMMV, whatever), there are two possibilities that come out of this: 1. Chicago lighting is similar to NYC lighting, and I join y’all. 2. The bouncer (or whoever) says “Nice try, see ya in six months”. And in case it wasn’t abundantly clear, not only do I not blame anyone for this (since having to plan around two under-21s has got to be the least fun in the world since shaving rabid ferrets) especially the organizers, I completely understand the rationale behind the bar’s decision. For all they know I’m an undercover cop trying to illegally get into a bar and shut the place down. Doesn’t mean I’m not still hoping for that neon-yellow glow-in-the-dark wristband that screams out “I HAVE NO F ASHION SENSE!” … ER, “I AM UNDERAGE! DO NOT GIVE ME ALCOHOL!”🙂 And as tiggy said, basically … it isn’t a one-and-done at O’Toole’s. There’ll be Friday goings-on and Sunday goings-on. And with the drive I’ve got back from Chicago it might not be a bad idea to catch some rest the night before instead of being out until 5 am:) ---

I certainly never thought anyone was making anything up, I just wanted to make absolutely sure that the under-21s couldn’t even come in the front door, because it wasn’t completely clear before. I thought that perhaps the manager was interpreting our situation differently because we had a private room where booze was going to be served. Now that we’ve gotten our answer, I am wholeheartedly in favor of HAVING FUN despite that disappointment. ---

**Moderator’s Notes:** Hamlet, I understand what you are saying, as does everyone else, I think. However, the issue isn’t open for debate. It’s a policy decision made by the management of O’Toole’s. Our wishes have no bearing on the situation. That being the case, I’m going to ask you to quit belaboring the point, it’s unproductive, divisive and argumentative; it’s a potential flash point. I would also like to advise you, Hamlet, that your remarks on methods for circumventing the established procedures of the bar, and indeed the laws of the State of Illinois are looked upon very dimly by the staff, this type of “advice” is unwanted. Any other posts of this nature will be summarily deleted. To all of that I would like to add my thanks to **iampuhna** and **tigerrill** for being so understanding in this unfortunate turn of events. I believe they are the only two minors caught in this snafu. If they can be forgiving and magnanimous, then certainly the rest of can be too. Now. We’re done with this, right? I thought so. ---

☹ Seems a better solution to the wrist band would be a hand stamp on the 21-and-over crowd. If you really wanted to be cool, you could use that black light ink. But I guess O’Toole’s doesn’t use stamps. Maybe you could just run around naked outside the bar? ---
