Rumors of a coup are being posted on various news sites.

Thaksin Shinawatra, the telephone mogul who is currently the Prime Minister but has been asked by the courts to step down, is in New York City for a summit at the UN. Army units have reportedly seized parts of Bangkok and the state television.
