That’s nice, my grandparents are now celebrating every year because they say they’re not sure to be around for 70. We had 68 this year (and if their doctors’ predictions are accurate, may well see the 90th). ---

My grandparents had I believe 74 together. It likely was easy for grandad but grandmom apparently had the patience of granite. ---

My grandparents were married 63 years and she married late, at 30. Imagine if they didn’t have a longer courtship or met earlier…that woulda been cool. They married in 1920. Rock on Percy and Florence. Great names. ---

I think that’s the new status symbol…long marriages. So many end in divorce, it’s nice to see a couple that truly are soulmates. My co-workers grandparents have been married I think over 80 years. She showed me a newspaper article on them. They’re adorable. And evidently the record holders. I’ll check on that. ---

That reminds me of a story. This old couple comes into a lawyer’s office, and they say to him, “We want a divorce!”. The lawyer questions them, and he finds out that the husband is 93, and the wife is 87, and that they’ve been married for 70 years, so he asks them, “You’ve been married for 70 years. Why do you want a divorce now?” And the old man looks at him and says, “We wanted to wait till the children were dead.” ---
