1. Within the ‘Seinfeld show universe’ how successful is Jerry? He’s been on the Tonight Show, but that didn’t go very well and there were never any scenes where people recognized him on the street or came up and asked for his autograph. And yeah I know he lives in NYC where they tend to let celebs be. How much would he be paying for the rent on his apartment? 2. Does Jerry even like Kramer/George/Elaine? As I rewatch the show it seems to me that he’s just too lazy to break off the relationships. Of the 3 I’d say he’s closest to Elaine, but that’s because they’ve had sex with each other. ---

Someone who knows NY will have to hazard a guess as to how much money he has. I have no knowledge about what part of town he lives in but his apartment is no great shakes. On the other hand he was able to buy his dad a Cadillac . . . As to his relationship with the gang, as you mentioned, he used to date Elaine, and he went to school (High School, I think) with George. I don’t recall if it’s ever explained how he met Kramer; maybe just from being his neighbor (?) Anyway, I always get the same vibe as with old married couples. They’re used to / feed off of each others’ annoying habits. After all, Jerry is no picnic either 😉 ---

1. Successful enough to buy a new Cadillac for his dad, have a nice Manhattan apartment, and drive nice cars, like a BMW and a Saab. 2. George was his best friend growing up, and seeing George’s continuous ineptitude at life is apparently worth the trouble it occasionally causes him. Kramer lives across the hall, so cutting him out would be difficult, and at least Elaine is easy on the eyes. And lets face it, Jerry wasn’t the easiest guy to get along with either. Is his apartment really that great? yeah Jerry is no picnic but every so often you’d hear him saying in a wistful kind of way how great it would be if the other 3 were out of his life for good. And am I the only one who didn’t think Elaine was hot? She NEVER showed off her body and I didn’t like her hairstyle, which I know is a dumb dealbreaker. ---

If your following the Seinfeld way of thinking anything could be a dealbreaker, and I guess hairstyle could be one. Once they were all hot for her when she talked dirty into the tape machine. ---

I think they were the only people who could stand to be around each other. This is evident in the Bizarro Jerry episode. Elaine thinks she found better a better Jerry, George, and Kramer, but it turns out they didn’t like her at all after she started being the real Elaine. The 4 could be themselves around each other, and there wasn’t any real judgement or anything. They just accepted it. ---

As for the Upper West Side apartment, I can’t see the monthly rent being any less than $2,500 per month (and probably a whole lot more, as of today’s market). ETA: huge living room, separate bedroom and lots of space. It could even be as high as $4,000. ---

Julia-Louis Dreyfus has a very slight build, so there really wasn’t much to show off. She did, however, come across as pretty hot in the episode where she lost her button, and in the one where Jerry and George are trying to save their NBC pilot (but her bra was really padded in that one). Kramer originally had a different last name (Keppel, or something like that), but they apparently explained that away as him messing with Jerry’s head when they first met. His response to Jerry’s “What’s mine is yours” was “Oh, no. I couldn’t impose.” ---

1. Paul Buchman did recognize Jerry on the street as one of his favorite comedians … on _Mad About You_. Not clear what the “universe” between the two shows are. Kramer was subletting his apartment from Paul and Paul didn’t think much of the Jerry who lived across the hall. 2. Elaine’s chest was a major plot point in S04E16 “The Shoes”. It causes Russell Dalrymple to fall in love with Elaine which leads to him falling off the Greenpeace boat. The guy gave up his _life_ due to her assets! This is not the same episode where she lost her button and others comment on her flaunting herself. That’s S07E10 “The Gum”. One of the incidents there is a store owner is told by a cop to put his hose away. Convinced by a wet, cleavage showing Elaine. This later causes the loss of the “Jon” Voight car. ---

I think it was assumed he was fairly successful-- he was basically Jerry Seinfeld without the successful show, which would’ve been nothing to sneeze at. I think he did the Tonight Show multiple times, plus the Today Show. And as was mentioned, he bought his dad a Caddy, plus there was an episode where Elaine saw Jerry’s net worth, and she re-got the hots for him. ---

Jerry is doing well enough that Elaine is impressed by the size of his bank account. ---

wasn’t there an episode where elaine gets invited to a bunch of bar mitzvahs by teenage boys to she could sleep with them and when she dosent they all “renounce” their faith ?
