Couple's new home has a snake den underneath it.

This made me laugh.

It wouldn’t bother me. One of the things I love about the rural home we moved to a couple of years ago is the huge variety of reptiles and amphibians I get to see… Garter snakes, Smooth Green snakes, Northern Water Snakes, Milk Snakes, plus turtles, frogs, toads and the odd salamander. Frog song in the spring is awesome. One spring day there were probably a dozen Garter Snakes entwined in the fence in the backyard, sunning themselves. I grabbed my camera. But I’m the weird girl who always liked snakes and wanted to catch them and pet them. I also stop my car and move them off the road so the next vehicle driving by doesn’t squash them.

finding a nest like that would make me check the area to see if there was an overpopulation/infestation of food sources of bugs or rodents nearby

but yeah there is a slight they’ll be back next year because if there’s any scent or pheromones about they will find them

Did ya know they found out garter snakes are ever so slightly venomous ? neither did i until i read Wikipedia apparently the venom is so weak and they cant really inject it … Garter snake - Wikipedia
