I used to get tech support calls for a woman who insisted on using her hyphenated name. She would get angry if we called her anything other than Ms. Gaye-Mann. ---

I saw an article on this topic once before, and one of the announcements they depicted was Main-Lay. And for some reason the announcement photo only showed the bride. ---

When I lived in Wyoming, it is traditional for women to hyphenate teir names. There was one woman who ephatically insisted she will hyphenate her name and looked dispargingly on those who didn’t. Then she met her husband… Duane Fisher. Her name was Virginia Fish. She didn’t hyphenate 🙂 ---
