Especially his cover of Stairway.
Also, Britney did covers of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “I Love Rock 'n Roll”. Those both also qualify.

Never heard of Ronan Keating, but it sounds like that’s a good thing…
As for covers:
- the Wallflowers cover of Bowie’s “Heroes” was more than a little off
- Have to agree with Pat Boone - even at the start of his career, when he was ripping off Little Richard
- That Pearl Jam cover of the 50’s song about the girl dying in the car crash - I HATE that version (not that the song is all that great to begin with…)

I heard someone singing a god-awful cover of Madonna’s “Poppa Don’t Preach” on the radio today. I don’t know who it was. The original was no masterpiece, but the remake was horrid.

No way! I love that cover! I bet I’d like a lot more of Stephin Merritt’s material if it had some live drums and fuzzy guitars instead of all that Casio.
