I will not say that the woman’s arm was torn free from her socket as we didn’t get to see the now-missing cop-cam footage. You can see her walking away mostly unruffled, but if you’ve ever sat around in handcuffs after being forced into a pair of bracelets by an over-zealous cop, you know that not only your haste to leave the scene as well as your own adrenaline can cover up any injury caused by said over-zealous handling.
I highly doubt that the reporter made any threats in this case. I just don’t see a mousy reporter making a threat in front of 9 officers, guns drawn. I still don’t see why a patrolcar with the typical 2 man team, or 2 cars with a total of 2 officers couldn’t have performed a safe-stop and had the passengers of the car exit in a careful fashion. It wouldn’t have endangered any of the officers.
I think that these types of incidents could be avoided completely if our police forces were made of reasonable people making rational decisions, which in my experience, they are not. There is a very human side missing from police work, especially in my area. We’ve had several incidents locally where trouble could have been completely avoided had the officers responding used their heads, instead of shooting.
