I can understand not wanting visitors while in the hospital - it can be exhausting. But to me there’s a difference between that and having someone there in case of, well, anything. After one of my husband’s surgeries, if I hadn’t been there to nag the nurses, he’d have been mostly ignored because, for some reason, they’d put him in a room away from all other patients and away from the nurses’ station. Poor guy was in serious pain and when I went to find someone, they were just shooting the breeze and were miffed that I expected them to do their job. We have avoided that hospital ever since. But my presence was definitely necessary that time. I want vacation! Ours isn’t till October. dammit. ---

Managed not to do much of anything today. Did pay a bill (internet/phone) and eat out twice (still early in the month and money in my pocket) and trying to organize the boys/girls for a tournament in early June (glutton for punishment, I am). Hugs, get-well-soons, glad-to-hear-its, and whatever else is needed. Apply as appropriate. I went to Lowe’s tonight to kill some time and get some ideas for the house. The walls are… sand. A nice, neutral color that goes well with everything and that is so bland that it’s making me nuts. I think cardinal and gold would be an awesome scheme for the bedroom. I read somewhere that your space should inspire you, and nothing inspires me more than [cardinal and gold](http://identity.usc.edu/print/colors/). The rest of the house will be decorated in due course. The sprog wants his room painted black and red because he’s apparently going to open a heavy metal nightclub. Airman, for his part, wants as little to do with this as possible, except that he wants one room - ideally, the dining room - to be black and gold. (The dining room has china cabinets that he thinks will hold his Stillerz memorabilia.) Everything else is fine. ---

It was _FORTY-TWO-FREEKIN’-DEGREES_ when I drove in this morning. It’s May 9, fercryinoutloud!!! I awoke to the sound of the furnace running! Sheesh… They’re promising 70s next week. We shall see. Other than that, just another day in paradise. I’m hoping to finish all the drawing for the throttle quadrant today, plus I have a pile of corrections to make that will soon become a generic drawing, since it’s an electronics cabinet that we do over and over again. Up till now, it gets rolled over and renumbered, which makes no sense at all. I’ve also got another set of drawings for another engineer. I shall be fully occupied for the rest of the week. Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 89 and N.O.S. for the day. Perfect weather for terlet shoppin’! 😃 That is the big plan for the day. I intend to find one at a fairly reasonable cost includin’ installation. I consider this to be one of those times my best tool is my bank account. I know I want it to be white and a high boy. Reckon it’ll be OK to sit on the floor models to determine if it’s a comfy height? OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification must commence. I suppose khaki shorts, a pullover shirt, and sneaks are the appropriate attire for terlet shoppin’. Just seems to me this is more of a casual adventure. Happy Tuesday Y’all! ---

Happy Toosday! The sun is shining but it’s cold outside, 43 degrees with a high of 60 predicted for the day. It went down into the 30s last night BRRRRRRRR! Cat annoyed the hell out of me when I first woke up but he is sleeping now. The minute my eyes are open he is there begging for treats. I think I could handle it better if he was begging for attention, but it’s all about the treats. The dog is still sleeping, he didn’t wake up when I tiptoed past him to the powder room. Of course the kid is still sleeping, he stays up all night and sleeps all day. Finally got the dog to eat something late last night, a hot dog. There is no figuring what he will or won’t eat on any given day. **Doggio** I think you deserve an ‘exceeds expectations’ and if they aren’t going to appreciate you then you need to move on to somebody who does. Nothing special to do today. ---

The floodwaters may start receding soon, but it’s been said it may be the end of the month, or the beginning of June, before all the water’s back in the river where it belongs. Though many homes and businesses will have a lot of damage, including a grocery store my family really likes that may be closed forever now. ---
