Yeah, I mean, for heaven’s sake, it’s not as though he were a woman having opinions about video games or something.
Exactly what I advocate. If we do this, Tamir Rice will come back to life.
I do know some innocent kid who wasn’t involved at all getting him and his family doxxed is pretty terrible. According to his brother, they even called the culinary college he was trying to get into and told them what a racist horrible person he was. And it’s just not even the right kid.
I’m just exhausted and saddened. This whole affair is just deeply depressing. I’d be the first one calling out the bigotry if these kids had surrounded some Native American vet who was preparing to leave a protest, as he initially claimed (he later changed his story and said that this didn’t happen). But it’s clear that these kids were being berated with homosexual and racial slurs by Black Hebrew taunters, kept reasonable composure (better than most adults I’d argue), then some guy approached them and banged his drum and sang in some kids face, then freely departed.
It’s just crazy and depressing. I have to believe that the vast majority of people are looking at this and saying, “Oh, okay, it’s not what I thought. That’s uplifting,” instead of the people who are determined to cling to versions of events not supported by video.
Guys, I’ve identified the real victim here. It’s Dacian. Poor Dacien, exhausted and saddened. Barely enough (but enough) energy remaining to slander a veteran.
Won’t anyone think of poor Dacien?
For some reason it reminds me of the night when Tucker Carlson’s home was attacked by MS-13 and Antifas. Front door battered into splinters, family terrorized, household pets launched by trebuchet…
I’m a little puzzled as to what exactly you’re upset about. Surely you don’t think that the angry social media users are deliberately targeting a misidentified student knowing that he wasn’t the one in the video? Because I doubt that’s happening: I think it’s far more likely that they simply have the student in question mixed up with one shown in the video.
So is your complaint just that people aren’t being sufficiently careful to correctly identify the targets of their anger? Or do you think that their expressions of anger would be wrong even if he were “the right kid”, as you put it? If so, is that because you don’t think the student in the video was doing anything wrong? Or do you think that the public shouldn’t be doxxing and personally attacking random strangers in a video even if they were doing something wrong?
In other words, is your complaint fundamentally about mistaken identity, excessively strict behavioral standards, or infringement of privacy rights?
I don’t think doxxing in any context is okay, Kimstu, particularly children. If they aren’t public figures. Even more so when the facts come out that the story put forth by CNN and WaPo and others isn’t at all what it was presented to be. Doxxing and harassing should be universally condemned. Posting people’s family’s personal information, including addresses and phone numbers is enormously irresponsible. This whole mob mentality is scary and dangerous. And people casually wield it as though it’s the right thing to do, get it wrong and ruin some poor individuals life, and just move on.
More than anything, I’m taken aback that the openly racist and anti-gay Black Hebrew Israelite protesters are not the villains of this story. That part bothers me a lot. In a story where everyone is bloodthirsty for the racist villains in these white kids wearing MAGA hats, the only ones demonstrating anything of the sort aren’t getting any attention at all. As Scott Adams eloquently put it, they’ve gotten the good guys and the bad guys reversed. CNN simply called them “Black activists preaching about the Bible.”
Or they get “too brave” one time too many, and fuck with the wrong guy, Then they take a dirt nap. It happens.
Maybe he and the other kids shouldn’t have been wearing MAGA apparel in DC during the longest federal shutdown in history while another 10,000 or so employees, myself included, have no clue whether or not they’ll be paid next month.
In the video a Native American looking man(not the drummer) does make racist comments to the schoolkids. I assume this Native American man was not with the Black Israelites, I assume he had some link to the drummer, either a close link or simply at the same rally. This racist comment, and the drummer only confronting the schoolkids and not the Black Israelites suggests to me the role the Native Americans here was not neutral.
You’re going to be paid for NOT working. What other job on the planet does that? :dubious:
You are an asshole.
Forget the races for a minute. Why is a grown man facing down a minor? That is never ok.
The Black Hebrews are a tiny meaningless cult who have been yelling crazy things on street corners for decades. All they want is press attention so everyone just ignores them. If those children had any common sense, or any sort of adult leadership, they would have walked right past them and ignored them. Instead they decided to get into a confrontation.
Luckily there was a NA veteran there to diffuse tensions, until one little dirtbag kid decided that an elderly NA man was a better target for his racial animus than a group of Black Hebrews, and decided to initiate a confrontation.
Scott Adams is an idiot.
Forget the races for a moment, why is a young man facing down a senior citizen? That is never ok.
True. But the juvenile is not the one beating a drum in the senior citizen’s face.
From what I have read, neither party intended to be aggressive in that transaction.
But, at the end of the day the adult is the responsible one.
I only believe one of the people who made that claim. (Hint: it’s the one who waded between two angry mobs with the express intent of preventing violence)
Responsible for what? A young man was exposed as an asshole–the elderly man wasn’t responsible for that.
LOL! I’m guessing you don’t have teenaged kids!
What, specifically, did that kid do? I’ve seen all the footage. He just stands there and smiles. At one point, he quietly asks one of his friends to stop engaging with a racist Indian guy telling the white kids they should “Go back to Europe”. Ironically, he seems like the best behaved person there. But he’s got a shit eating grin so he’s taking all the heat.
What if the senior citizen was the one wearing the MAGA hat? Besides, it takes two to have a stare down.
“Smiles”? LOL.
I was a bit of a shit myself when I was a teenager, and I recognize the signs of someone initiating a confrontation perfectly well.
The elderly man, who was a *Marine *and a Vietnam veteran, felt threatened. If that’s not enough for you, then nothing will ever be enough for you.
Right. Those kids, especially Smirk Boy, look like the Republican version of Westboro Baptist: putting on MAGA apparel and hoping to be assaulted so Mommy & Daddy can file a lawsuit.
