Crap That People Hang From Their Rear-View Mirrors!

Don’t see why a law is necessary. Stiff usually means not a lot of dangling goin’ on. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve seen people of different ethnicities do that. There’s an urban legend that they reflect radar gun rays and keep the cops from figuring out your speed. Or maybe they’re just supposed to look cool while blinding the people driving behind you on sunny days.

I have a fake FBI identification thingie on a lanyard. It was a goofy present from a friend back when I was still a big X-Files fan. It says “Dana Scully” and has a picture that’s obviously a screen shot from the show, not a posed ID card style picture.

One time, I was sitting and waiting for my oil to get changed, and one of the guys who was working on my car came in and asked, “are you REALLY an FBI agent???” He looked really disappointed when I told him I wasn’t. Then he wanted to know where I got the “realistic FBI badge.”

I have a little Piglet happy meal toy hanging from my mirror. he’s dressed as Tigger. I call him…Tiglet.

My niece gave it to me as she finds Tigger scary. So much for the bouncing Tigger I got her as a baby. :smack:

Nothing hanging from my rearview mirror at the moment, but I do have an NC State medallion hanging off the roof console, just below the temperature/compass display. I typically hang a small ornament from the mirror at Christmas though. I like to attach little keychains to my dashboard, too – stick them in place with a bit of some 3M Command adhesive, or hang them off the trim with some elastic.

Ha! The fact is that the cops I know love those danging things, because if they want to stop somebody, there’s the reason right there. Dangling from the windshield. They don’t have to make up burned-out taillights or 1.5 miles over the speed limit or anything.

I got “lei’d” at a Hawaiian luau party last summer. Because the lei was bright blue, the same color as my Mazda, it ended up hanging from my rear view mirror but I took it down after it started to be more cold than warm outside as the summer slowly faded away.

I need to get lei’d again soon.

…not yet…

I have a little smiley face head with a construction hat on. He’s my Tough Guy.

Would this be before or after the accident?
