Damn it, this thread deserves to live. Thus, I cast the spell of " pmub siht daerht " 'pon this thread.
Hmmm… nice threadbump spell.
As for my opinion. I can see 4-5 schools in the US. While the US is geographically much vaster than Britain, Britain has a lot of people packed into that space.
That being said:
Salem
New Orleans
Cortez
have the most support and it works well. Salem as the ‘old wizarding school’ which is most European. New Orleans being very voodoo based. Cortez, of course, having most in touch with Native American magic (with visiting professors from schools in Mexico and Peru).
After that, I’d add:
Hollywood
Roswell
Hollywood is movie magic and works well for that reason. It’s main speciality would be in Charms, in creating illusions. Roswell, is obvious, for the ‘activity’ that goes on there. They’d specialize, as stated above, in the Dark Arts (being the Durmstrang of America).
I’d imagine more interschool activities among these 5 schools than among the 3 of Europe (that we know of… I’m still clinging to the notion that Southern Spain has a magical school based on its Moorish past).
