Lately I’ve had to use my phone as a tether because I’ve been in Internet-challenged areas.

So, I go through the following process.

1. Connect via USB
2. Start Applications
3. File Explorer
4. Up from My Documents to root directory
5. Open Windows
6. Hit L twice to skip past some stuff and get down the file list
7. Hit up a bunch of times to get to “Internet Connection Sharing”
8. Start Internet Connection Sharing
9. Press “Connect”

Surely there has to be some way I can create a shortcut to cut out steps 3-7, right?

I found this on the Cingular Answer Center:

> [@](#):
>
> Procedure
>
> 1. Connect the Device to the computer via the USB Cable.
> 2. Open ActiveSync.
> 3. Click Explore.
> 4. Double-click on My Windows Mobile-Based Device.
> 5. Double-click on the Windows folder.
> 6. Find the file called Internet Sharing.
> 7. Right click on Internet Sharing and choose Create Shortcut.
> 8. Find the file called Internet Sharing (2).
> 9. Right-click on Internet Sharing (2) and choose Cut.
> 10. Double-click on the folder called Start Menu.
> 11. Click Edit.
> 12. Click Paste.

ETA: When I tried it, instead of steps 10-12, I just right-clicked on the Start Menu folder and did paste.
