am using corel draw 8 and trying to make transparent gifs. i export them under the compuserve gif tag and then have a lot of choices to make. no matter what boxes i check or uncheck i still get a faint border around the image, when i put the image on a web page. what am i doing wrong? ---

i have made fairly large headings and on the web page there is a very light outline around the retangular shape of the heading. ---

Is the edge of the drawing the EXACT same colour as the transparency you have applied. It may look the same to the eye, but with the transparency it will notice it’s not the same colour and won’t make it transparent. ---

If your transparent gif is truly transparent: Check the HTML code. You _must_ have a border attribute and make sure it’s set to border=“0” Check the path to the gif. An incorrect path sometimes creates a false border because although the transparent gif is not visible, that’s because it’s already in your browser cache (when you tested the page locally). The actual gif really isn’t available on the page because the path is incorrect. ---
