I was led to [this](http://objective.jesussave.us) site while browsing Popular Science’s web site. The question? Is it a real “Creation Science” site or is it a hoax (satire)?

Here is a couple of quotes from the page in question:

In regards to the evolution of the eye:

> [@](#):
>
> Logic dictates that if evolutionism is true and the eye was built incrementally over time from nothing to its present state of functional wholeness, then it must have at some point in the past been only half of an eye.
>
> Only a moment’s thought on this supposed ancestral eye lets us see that there would be problems: How would this eye be moved in its socket if it wasn’t a smooth spherical shape? What would stop the seepage of light through the top? How would the lens keep from being deformed if it was not held equally on all sides? How would the eye jelly have kept from spilling out of the opened bowl of the half-eye?

::snicker::

Ahem.

Here’s a quote from a “creation science” project completed by a youth:

> [@](#):
>
> 1st Place: “My Uncle Is A Man Named Steve (Not A Monkey)”
> Cassidy Turnbull (grade 5) presented her uncle, Steve. She also showed photographs of monkeys and invited fairgoers to note the differences between her uncle and the monkeys. She tried to feed her uncle bananas, but he declined to eat them. Cassidy has conclusively shown that her uncle is no monkey.

My vote? Satire. The wording is too … _particular_ IMO for it to be anything else. At least… I sure hope it’s satire.

Technically speaking, aren’t _all_ Creation Science pages hoaxes? 😉

As to whether they’re sincere or not, a brief visit leaves me undecided. They don’t appear too fond of Landover Baptist, but I suppose that _could_ be camouflage.

I’m not Christian, and I don’t know this: is triclavianism an issue in Christian theology?

That’s a hoax. It’s actually done by the Landover Baptist people. They set up a seemingly ultra-fundie site devoted to wiping out Landover Baptist. That Creation Science Fair page is hysterical.

The link doesn’t work for me - I get sent to a site called [paysforsurveys.com](http://paysforsurveys.com)

Near as I’ve been able to piece together, the original Landover Baptist site has been under some legal pressure from Jerry Falwell and others, trying to shut it down because it improperly uses the term “Baptist”. Our ever-resourceful friends at Landover Baptist have decided to relocate, and in the process satirize the attack on their satire. The [Progress Section](http://objective.jesussave.us/progress.html) has some relevant links.

I love the new merchandise. Perhaps I’ll get a [“Ruby Matrimony Thong”](http://www.cafeshops.com/objectivemin.3749749) for the wife next Valentine’s Day.

There are, by the way, some _real_ [Creation Science Fair](http://tccsa.freeservers.com/adventure/fair.html) pages out there…

I was unsure that it was satire until I clicked on this link on their page:

Now I’m sure.
