I was in school when my public high school renewed it’s accredidation. It was a year-long process. A committee did things like survey students, sit in on classes, review teaching materials and looks at test results and extracurricular activities. It was a pretty involved process. If a school gets a particularly good review, they get a little longer period of time before they have to renew their accredidation again. There are schools that don’t pass accredidation at all, but they have to be pretty extreme situations. There was one high school that apparently didn’t pass because they made low-income students who recieve free lunch eat sub-par food in a sectioned off (and poorly maintained) portion of the cafeteria. These kids (who were mostly Mexican in a mostly Anglo school) were pretty much singled out for ridicule. But in most cases when there is a problem with a school they are given a year to shape up and have the accredidation people come around again. ---

Yeah, but **Malthus** , it’s been proven by numerous conquerors that tried to burn it down and were sickly thereafter that _smoking ziggurats is hazardous to your health_! 😃 ---
