1. Okay. I understand that is your current view.

2. I’m sorry. I don’t understand your question. How do you propose that a person \*\*could \*\*be ready? If you expect complete lights out when you die (as it appears you might), how are you planning for non-existence?

**Gom** , would you be ready if the afterlife followed the tenets of a different religion than yours?

I know you meant this for **GOM** , but I’m just thinking about it myself. I mean, shoot, what if a bizarre religious **cult** got it right and no one bothered to listen to them? How would I deal, roasting in hell, thinking to myself, _damn, if only I’d bought them Nikes and hopped a ride on that comet!_ 😃

Well, we’re all spinning that thousand-sided roulette wheel and as far as I’m concerned, just because you’ve decided on a favorite number doesn’t make it any more likely to come up than anyone else’s favorite number. For that matter, the fact that it’s your parent’s favorite number doesn’t really increase your odds any. In fact, even if you gather together six or seven million of your pals and you all bet on the same number, it’s not going to influence the spin of that wheel one little bit.

Wow! What a great question…

You Dopers do ask some good ones.

Short answer: No.

I expect that’s not quite what you’re looking for, so I’ll try to expand on that tomorrow.

Good night.

I burst into laughter at that passage.
