Creationist almost discovers gravity

Ok, here’s the challenge: let’s come up with a “coherent” set of arguments for “intelligent falling” (tdn, genius). I’ll do up a website and everything. Then Mangetout can shill it on creationist boards. Together we can discredit them even more than they are already And if the movement gains in strength, cause an even bigger headache for educational establishments in the US: “The theory of gravity is just a theory”, etc.

Sorry to rain on tdn’s parade…

(OTOH, if you really did come up with ‘Intelligent Falling’ independently, then props to you!)

Oh bugger.

There’s also the old thread Gravitists vs. Downists. Unfortunately this threadspotted thread is no longer visible. With a bit of luck it might live again after the server upgrade.

Can you prove that things fall because of gravity, not because God is pushing them down? Thought not.

Can you prove that gods don’t believe in gravity? I don’t think so, since they are always dropping things.

Back in my wild youth, I had a T-shirt made that said “There is NO Gravity - the Earth Sucks!”

I still have it around somewhere… but unfortunately the expansion of the universe has made me too large to wear it… I blame God…

Hey, get your Wiki-editor hat on!

From Wiki’s entry on Theory:

“For example, it is a fact that an apple dropped on earth has been observed to fall towards the center of the planet, and the theory which explains why the apple behaves so is the current theory of gravitation.
