I used to live in northern Louisiana and used to go hunting with a friend of mine and we used to find petrified shark teeth all the time. I had a bag of about 20 of them that i found in different paces in the woods over a 2 yr period so at some point in time that whole area was underwater.

A lot of places have been underwater. And your point is…?

How did you find out that they were petrified shark teeth?

I used to live in northern Louisiana for about 3 yrs and I used to go hunting witha friend of mine. We used to find petrified shark teeth all the time. They were hard like glass just like petrified wood. I had a ziplock bag that I kept them in. Over a 3 yr period I found 25 of them in different areas of the woods so I think at some point in time it was definately flooded or that was part of the ocean floor before the land became elevated over the years. As far as God being real, I think there is a God maybe Im wrong. The big bang theory does not prove that something came from nothing because the atoms or particles that collided to make ‘‘the big bang’’ had to come from somewhere. Maybe the universe and everything in it is just one of Gods MANY creations. God may have other creations incomprehensible to us. It is a mystery that we may never find out.

Im not sure if they were petrified but i compared them to some other shark teeth and they were definately shark teeth.

So…you are convinced that the Flood happened because you found something that look like shark teeth?

My point is that someone else in the thread stated that just because fossils were found on mountain tops doesnt mean it was flooded. I was trying to point out that where i found those shark teeth was flooded so i have no doubt that those mountains were flooded too.

Im not convinced that the flood happened at all but they were definatley shark teeth (i know what shark teeth look like) and that area was definately under water at some point weather it was gods work or just used to be under water is beyond me.

Czarcasm, you seem doubtful about the shark’s teeth. A friend of mine is a paleontologist, and he’s described to me before that shark’s teeth are extremely common to find around here (Dallas), because for one thing they’re hard so fossilize well, and for another, the sharks go through so many of them in their lifetimes.

One time a few years ago at a party, he pulled a little pill bottle out of his pocket, which had lots of small shark’s teeth in it, which he had gotten out of the creek behind his house - he took a chunk of the austin chalk from the creek bank, dissolved it in acid, and there were a bunch of little shark’s teeth in it.

All that would prove is that there were various floods at some time in the earth’s history. There is no way the Biblical flood as big as told in the Bible could have happened, there is too much proof to show that is the case. Yes, there were floods and the people of that time may have thought it was the whole world, but had the flood occured as it is written, no plants could have existed through 29,000 feet of water, and no animals could have swam that far away to get to the ark and then swim back to the America’ and other countries across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Scientists have shown that the plates of the earth can cause the earth to lift up and have formed mountians where there was once lakes or Oceans, and some mountains are still getting higher even now. When 2 plates push together they cause the land to rise, so if there were sharks during the time the plates pushed against each other it is possible the skelatons could have move up with the earth. It is called Plate Techtronics.

I kinda thought the same thing about the plates forming mountains and thats probably why we found the shark teeth there. As far as god flooding the earth and the water being over mountain tops…i cant really see that happening…i mean really…where did all of that water drain off too? The bible says the water started to receed. Really? Receed to where?

I had some Jehovah’s Witnesses come to my door telling global flood did happen. I told him there is not enough water around. His way around that was there was this “firmament” and the Earth was a lot flatter.

I’m glad that’s settled. I used to live in Southwest Louisiana, on the delta, and that was under water a lot more recently than your part.

The most fun disproof of the flood I know is to calculate the potential energy of the water supposedly above the Earth. With some high school physics you can compute how hot all that water would be when it hit. No one would die from drowning, they would all be parboiled first. And an ark wouldn’t save Noah one bit.

I recall someone calculating that if all that water had been up there in some “firmament” (presumably as vapor) that the resulting atmospheric pressure would have killed everyone. You _are_ after all talking about living under the mass of a worldwide ocean.

And to complete the crazy creationist circle, I believe that the Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, TX (just outside of Dinosaur Valley State Park) is building a hyperbaric chamber for that reason - they think that the antedeluvian pressure was much higher because of that water-holding firmament, and that this higher pressure, combined with maybe a different oxygen concentration, caused humans to grow to giant size, and that’s why the footprints at Dinosaur Valley State Park are so large - they’re really big human footprints.
