Amen. It’s hard for Christian bands because so many people consider them “uncool” (I for one think Christian music is cool, but my tastes for a lot of music are picky so I only like the heavier stuff) so they put on a secular type of front. I don’t consider them a Christian band though. How about a band of Christians? I like Creed, and I used to like Limp Bizkit, but that’s just me. But then again, I like Bob Dylan, too. Why can’t we all just be friends? ---

I don’t think he sounds too much like Eddie Vedder. (maybe just a little bit) Yeah, LB is too obnoxious these days, that’s why I stopped listening to them. I do like Creed though. I used to hate them until I heard the song “Higher” on a movie preview for Titan AE. Then it wouldn’t leave my head! My brother bought the cd. Then my friend Paul mentioned them being Christian and I thought, wow, cool. ---

Welfy, that’s exactly what I thought when I found out they were Christian–cool. I’m not a “practicing” Christian, but I think it’s nice to hear a band that isn’t just trying to sound like tough guys. Creed’s lyrics are unique to what’s going on in music right now and it’s refreshing. Sorry to hi-jack. Continue the Celebrity Deathmatch. ---

I saw that Titan A.E. trailer with “Higher” in it too! It was without a doubt the greatest movie trailer I’ve ever seen! The music matched the visuals so well, it was amazing. I think I posted this elswhere as one of the best things to ever happen to me at the movies. (Hmm. Maybe I need to get a life.) I don’t think that trailer circulated much, why I don’t know. It was better than the movie it advertised. As to the relative quality of Creed’s music…I have to agree with Dewaholic. Their lyrics ARE inspiring. BUT their music so isn’t. A few hits aside, they sound like a gazillion other post-grunge bands out there. I’ll still listen to them though. At least I know I could sing the lyrics in front of a 6-yr-old girl and not feel embarrassed. ---

Blech. I had no idea trite = inspiring. And, I saw the aforementioned _Titan A.E._ trailer, too. There was some dork of a teenager sitting next to me who insisted on **singing along** with the song. Out of key. Ugh. ---

While I despise both bands violently, and wish they would both just fade back into obscureity from whence they came. Scratch that–violent death for both. However, honestly, Fred Durst kicks his ass. I mean, they challenged him to a BOXING match. What kinda fight is that? Creed wqould probably fight fair, too. I mean, with that kinda attitude, \*\* I \*\* could kick his ass. You know, knee to the groin, sand in the eye, that sorta thing. Real celebrity deathmatches should be just that–a deathmatch, not some pansy-ass boxing competition for charity. Stupid Christian rock.
