There’s a German group with a song about “my girlfriend’s best friend” or something like that. The video of the song ends with one of the band walking off with the two women in question, but (as I remember it) the size of this fellow and way the scene was shot just makes it look like a creepy paedo scenario.

Chicago/Make Me Smile starts off creepy…

_Children play in the park
They don’t know
I’m alone in the dark
Even though
Time and time I see your face
Smiling inside_

The rest of the lyrics could be about a relationship between adults and all. So why start out like that? 😕

My original post included the worse part, but the mods removed it over copyright concerns.

> She got them from the shelf upon the wall

Yeah, creepy and haunting too! Every time I hit those notes on my guitar or on bass it scares me! LOL
I think you’d have a hard time finding one that’s weird!
My nominations from Alice:
Black JuJu
Ballad of Dwight Frye
Stephen/The Awakening
Cold Ethyl
I love the Dead

And the weirdest one of all has to be Unfinished Sweet, because who the hell writes a 6 minute song about going to the dentist…not recommended for headphones. lol

Sting really does some _creepy_ crap.

(on preview, DavidM posted the same title).

Yeah as a parent it’s hard for me to listen to that one too. Here’s the song, and a pretty decent homemade video by a fan: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lwj5\_SNWYc8](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lwj5_SNWYc8)

ETA: I mean in answer to the posting wondering what that song could be. My answer for creepiest rock song is The Crowing by Coheed and Cambria. The recurring phrase is

> [@](#):
>
> But you, you were my favorite
> But you, you know, you were my favorite

When it’s sung in Claudio’s inherently creepy singing style I imagine a jilted lover or stalker throwing things around a house complaining that his obsession/love is not returned, even though the song means something different in the context of the full Story.

Hmmm, up until now I’d always assumed that that verse was describing an unrelated party, or perhaps a party ostensibly for a child where most of the people just make it into a regular (albeit somewhat reserved in a Scandinavian family-friendly way) party.

But if the five year old is smoking cigars, yeah, that’s a bit creepy.

I haven’t seen this one named yet but Edge of the world by Faith no more. I think it’s suppose to be creepy, and it is very effective, here’s a sample of the lyrics:

Lay your head on my shoulder
Its not the point
That Im forty years older
You can trust me
Im no criminal
But I’d kill my mother
To be with you

We’ve got this far and no-one’s mentioned Pearl Jam’s _Alive_?

The singer’s mother chooses to tell her son that his “father” isn’t actually his father, and then molests him because he looks like his (dead) real father - only he’s… uh… Alive. And then the next verse has the narrator repressing the memory.

I’m always squicked out by Alanis Morisette’s _You Oughtta Know_, but mostly because it has Alanis sucking off Full House’s Uncle Joey in a cinema. Try to argue that that image doesn’t stay with you.

From the lighter side of metal, of course:
You’re sweet, but you’re just four feet
And you’ve still got your baby teeth
You’re too young
And I’m too well hung
But tonight I’m gonna rock you…
> I don’t get what’s creepy about this song. I looked up the lyrics and it looks like it’s about a guy who has a crush on a girl or it’s about a relationship in it’s earliest stages and he’s imagining their future. Typical teenage sappiness to me.

I dunno, to me it is just too obsessive and one-sided. Imagine the song being sung to someone who is NOT that interested in the guy at all. Especially when he throws in the line, “How is the weather?”.

It’s probably just me though. Kind of reminds me of the song _It’s No Good_ by Depeche Mode:

> [@](#):
>
> I’m going to take my time
> I have all the time in the world
> To make you mine
> It is written in the stars above
> The gods decree

> Right next to me
> You can run, but you cannot hide
>
> Don’t say you want me
> Don’t say you need me
> Don’t say you love me
> It’s understood
> Don’t say you’re happy
> Out there without me
> I know you can’t be
> 'Cause it’s no good

Definably off the beaten path of common rock music but some “drone” music is crazy creepy even without any words.

Sunn O))) and notably the song Báthory Erzsébet is a song that even without words can somehow creep the @#$% out of me. Apparently the lead singer is incredibly claustrophobic. For the song he locked himself inside of a coffin with a microphone to get a few bits of vocals. It vocals are slowed way down but the effect is intensified.

A friend and I found a song called Swallow My Load on an obscure metal compilation. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the band that did it, but I do recall laughing my ass off when I heard it because the lyrics were s over the top nasty. If I could find it, it would fit in here so perfectly.

How about “I’ll Be There” by The Escape Club in the early 90’s? The gist of it is that the narrator has died, but he’s still watching over his girlfriend or whoever.
