The commercial for “Drag Me to Hell” where the fly goes up the chick’s nose? GAAAAAAH!

There’s that one “House” episode where a woman hallucinates spiders pouring out of a hole in her arm. Meh.

Insects going INTO people, though – GAAAAAAAAH!

I’m not trypophobic but tryptophobic does sound better.

That fucking cat with hands video creeps the shit out of me even thinking about it. I hate it. I saw a few seconds of it once and that’s it. I don’t mind cartoony versions of the same thing but something like that? NO.

And maggots. Maggots freak me out. Not other bugs, except in great quantities. But even 1 or 2 maggots make my hair stand on end, though I can manage to kill them at one point. I once saw a garbage can upended in downtown which was literally crawling with them. I almost threw up.

Fuck, now my legs are all itchy. GAH!

> Also, someone posted (somewhat recently) a thread about the giant wind turbines. I’d never thought of them as creepy before, but hot diggity damn… I do now. I tried to find that thread awhile back, but my search fu is poor. There was an especially creepy pic in it.

They creep me out too, as much as I love green energy and believe in wind power. There’s a stand of them south of the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Somerset, PA and I cringe until they’re out of sight. There’s another stand of them in rural West Virginia, near a place where I’m going in a couple of weeks. Those are _much_ closer to the road and you can see them at a very near distance for a good ten minutes. Just thinking about it scares me to pieces.

My fear, btw, is not that they’ll come alive and walk, but that a cataclysm will occur and a turbine will break from its stem and become, essentially, a 50 foot ninja throwing star.

Sunflowers. I don’t so much mean if they’re in a field or cut one’s in a vase van Gogh style, but the super tall ones you find growing by themselves. Double creepy if their head is drooping as if they’re staring down at you.

I also find water towers pretty creepy; especially [this one](http://baysoundings.com/wint07/images/RiverTowerSunset2.jpg). \<shudder\>

Huh. I find wind turbines to be kind of beautiful. Somewhere along the Trans-Canada 2 highway in New Brunswick, there’s a ridge with a whole line of them, and I thought it was really cool to see.

I’m intensely creeped out by wicker and wicker-like things. Especially when they are shiny and varnished. The smell, the texture… just being near a bunch of wicker in a store makes me lightheaded. I have no idea why I hate it so much.

Wind turbines haven’t had the opportunity to creep me out, but their accursed industrial ancestors still do. Remember the giant-grasshopper oil pumps (or whatever they were) that went up-and-down, up-and-down. I always imagined one of those coming after our car as we went by. They HAVE to be alive, there’s no way they’re just machinery.

Also, fern leaves before they unroll. Ditto on the sunflowers too.

Oh, hell yes. It’s been so long since I’ve seen one, but I remember them in SoCal and I was mezmerized / horrified by them. There’s also whole freakin’ fields of those wind turbine thingies as you head toward Vegas.

Yes. Yes yes yes.

Though when I see one, I have this mental movie going on, where it’s a nice sunny day and you’re standing near a field that has one off a bit in the distance. You look at it, then you (and the camera) turn away. Then the camera goes back and HOLY SHIT IT’S RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!!

i don’t know if anyone remembers or even heard of that gnome… dwarf thing in argentina? some kids supposedly filmed this odd dwarf creature running through the woods while camping or something-- the video still creeps me out to no extent just thinking about, even if the whole story is dodgy. no link, you may youtube search that yourself.

ah, and i also fall in the category of trypophobics. when i was young, my mum and i would go to the crafts shop and possibly buy some potpourri with the black, dry lotus buds just staring at you with the multitudes of little holes. AHH!

Last night, my mom and I visited a family friend in Cambridge, Mass. At the end of the night, as he was walking us to our car, he said, “You see the house you parked in front of? The Boston Strangler killed one of his victims there.”

… So of course I had to imagine him standing on the front step, knocking at the door, waiting to be let in so he could commence the murdering. Gaaah.
