I was half-way listening to the radio yesterday, and there was a story about a documentary fil called _The [surname]s: The Crescent Lake Mystery_. My question is not about the film, but about the ‘mystery’.

Apparently, some people went missing and their car was found in Crescent Lake (WA). I wasn’t really listening, but I thought I heard that their car went into the lake in the '20s or '30s. That piqued my interest. Then I heard something about a lid from a washing mashine that was the same model as the one bought by the people who disappeared, and that they were known to have been hauling that washing machine at the time of their disappearance.

Does anyone know the details of the incident? Sounds intriguing.

A Google search found [this article.](http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/66547_car15.shtml) Sounds like the story you’re looking for.

I’ve kinda followed this for a while.
The story I read was that a couple drove to Seattle to buy a washer and never returned home. At the time it was suspected that they had driven off the road into Crescent Lake during a storm, but nothing was ever found. Crescent is so deep, searching wasn’t possible unlit recently.
In 2002, they found several cars from the same era, and, as **Nightingale** noted, their car as (probably) found. As far as I know, they still haven’t found any bodies.
I believe they are still surveying the lake bottom.

> Three members of the National Park Service Submerged Resources Center (SRC) are working in Olympic National Park this week, conducting mandatory training for the park’s nine-person dive team and mapping and documenting the area around the Blanche and Russell Warren vehicle. The team will also retrieve the human skeletal remains found near the car in early June of this year.
