Well it’s a simple enough equation for the final day - South Africa need to bat all day (or score 353 runs) and Australia need 6 wickets, you’d be pretty brave to beat against the Aussies now. ---

It always hurts when your team can’t force the win. But South Africa deserved that draw. du Plessis’ century was an incredible disply of fortitude for a debutant. Even as a rabid Aussie fan it was an honour to watch that innings. ---

Yes, you have to respect an effort like that, even if, as a neutral, I’m glad I didn’t have to watch it. de Villiers also survived for 220 balls for his 33. The two spinners had contrasting fortunes. Tahir - 260/0 off 37 overs, econ 7. Lyon - 140/5 off 94, econ 1.49. ---
