38 overs a side. I posted at a cricket newsgroup before the match started that I thought Australia had more versatiliy. It’s a shame the match has been reduced, but it is difficult to see Sri Lanka chasing down 280. ---

Bah. Rain looks like ruining the match. Sri Lanka were well under the cosh but what a miserable way to end the contest. ---

Well, thank heavens that is over! A brave effort form the Sri Lankans, but honestly, who is going to remember this game, this whole tournament for anything but farce and the damage it has done to the progress of cricket? This all-conquering Aussie side deserves a better monument. mm ---
