Name an album you cannot believe is not more widely and highly regarded. Don’t say “Appetite for Destruction”… the key word here is “underrated”. Let’s turn on some folks to records they may not know are worth a listen. I’ll start: **Chevelle** , _Sci-Fi Crimes_ 10 years later it never gets old… brilliant. ---

Emitt Rhodes – solo album where he played everything. Renaissance – their first album (sometimes called “Kings and Queens”), which was a spinoff of the Yardbirds and is complete different from the Annie Haslam group. Kak – amazingly good psychedelic rock Spirit – “The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus.” – one of the top albums of all time. It’s a Beautiful Day – one of the most beautiful albums of rock music ever. ---

I hope this thread doesn’t deteriorate into “who can name the most obscure album” wankfest. I would vote for David Gilmour’s 1978 solo album. A solo album from a major band from a time when solo albums were more common and were given at least some air play. It’s pretty good IMO and yet doesn’t sound like “Pink Floyd lite”, like A Momentary Lapse of Reason does. ---

Haunting the chapel is the one that always seems to get skipped and is, for my money, the most criminally underrated. ---

I’ll do soundtrack albums cause I’m the only collector I know (Though I know there are others out there) and when I die, my collection will go to my kids on a thumbdrive and probably never be heard. Capricorn One-Jerry Goldsmith Damnation Alley-Jerry Goldsmith The Omega Man-Ron Grainer Jeremiah Johnson-John Rubinstein and Tim Mcintire The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean-Maurice Jarre Beat Girl-John Barry Here’s a couple of movies: Rumblefish-Great soundtrack and an underrated movie. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me-The criticism was it was weird for the sake of weird and didnt make any sense…???..made sense to me. ---

Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman were out, Tever Horn and Geoff Downes were in. This is maybe my favorite Yes album. Machine Messiah is AMAZING!! Chris Squire was fire! ---

**We Are the Pipettes** by … The Pipettes. (Pronounced “pip-ettes” for you science lab folks.) Retro girl group stuff with modern sensibilities. A bunch of bad timing things plus continuous turnover so this album was nearly “it” for the group. ---

Harry Nilsson did an album of classic standards. He has a great voice for those kind of songs. I had the LP years ago. Never could find it in any other media. Now I can’t even remember the title. Alas. ---
