Birds & more Birds…

Yes, a lot of Birds.

Got a few deer today.

But a lot of birds also. 29 total pics.

Right at 1000 pictures.

Kept under 40 of them.

23 from 802
Mostly birds on the wing for Lorie & Tyler.

Deer herd is running mostly 4 to 7 each evening.

Should start about here:

Very cool!

GusNSpot As always, I enjoy your pictures. Happy New Year to you and the critters!

Thank you.

Brrrds.

We got ourselves a snowstorm a couple days ago - almost a foot of snow, which made everything come to a grinding halt.

Good excuse to stay home and wander around looking for cool scenes to photogbraph… ( did you see what I did there? )

19 new.

Start here:

Put up 15

Wx is warm, critters are not sure…

39 +/- [I don’t know for sure.]

Maybe start here…

Those are some chubby deer! Not a hard winter for them, it looks like.

Couple of days worth.
Orange cat & raccoons.
Need to do some thinking about how to get critters where I need them to be.
Maybe pictures in the next batch of what I saw late in the afternoon when grump kept running off from the food a younger doe who has a left front knee out of joint or maybe broken. Little one got smart and waited until the others left and then she came in and ate several times.
Nature is pretty harsh and it is hard to watch sometimes. Like the one with the bad rear foot, she just did not make it through hunting season. Quick with a bullet or slow, I don’t know. Hope things turn good for this new young deer. May see her in more pictures.
They all are getting more comfortable with us being on the deck, we can talk and as long as we don’t stare, about half will not run off.
Enjoy.

The batch with raccoons at the end.

Raccoons are still a problem but I am gaining.
Got some pictures of the hurt doe.
Grumpy
Woody & Mrs Woody
Enjoy

Deer & raccoons are fat.

Some bastard shot a pet reindeer near here a few years ago. Archery.
My best wishes for the doe.
Is that large bait or a critter in the Hav-A-Hart?

Raccoon eating the Orange Cat’s food.
The trap is wired open.
They are used to going in there.
Can trap the cat or coons anytime. Mostly being used for a dog proof place for his food and it is far enough that only one of our cats bothers to walk that far for the same food that is in their condo.
With out harming or moving the whole passel of raccoons I need to keep the coons out and still let the cat in. Stumped right now. :frowning:

Coons are smart, or possessed of low animal cunning. My first Wife’s family lived near my five acres in West Pulaski county, near Saline. They had a coon coming in a dog door and eating dog and cat food. The Grandmother discovered him in the bathroom in the early hours of the morning.

And that is how the fight started? :stuck_out_tongue:
