Okay everyone, fess up…do you believe crop circles (such as the [recent one in Indonesia](http://www.thehindu.com/sci-tech/article1134322.ece)) are created by [extraterrestrials](http://homedailynews.com/ufo-and-crop-circle-an-old-phenomenon/3814/), or someone/something else? ---

I picked People did it, and are screwing with us, but I believe some of them are probably caused by localized storm phenomena as well… What possible point could aliens be trying to make with them ? ---

They’re all cookbooks! Now, with that out of the way, it’s people. Not all are screwing with us, well, yeah they are, but on various levels. By that, I believe some are deliberate jokes/hoaxes, some are meant as art exhibits, some are…whatever reason. But I believe 100% of crop circles are human made. ---

I find it rather unlikely that in our vast universe, Earth is the only planet to develop life. But crop circles are people fucking with us. ---

I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of a message from Elvis. If you look closely at the circles, you can see pictures of guitars and rhinestones and the number 7. Who else could that be? ---

Well, there wasn’t _really_ an option for my thoughts. . . See, in our household, we blame everything on The Spice Girls (this has been a time-honored tradition in our family for years), so it’s probably them. So, even though I voted that Earthlings do it to screw with us, there is no real evidence that The Spice Girls are really Earthlings. . . ---

I picked “other”. I was watching a show about them and this old British farmer declaired that crop circles were made by “crazed hedgehogs”. I promptly subscribed to his newsletter. 😃 ---

In all seriousness, weren’t there two drinking buddies from England who admitted they started the whole thing as a lark. Others then started copying them, and it’s become something of a quasi-art form. I saw a documentary once which showed a group of them - basically college students, from what I remember - carefully mapping out designs before they went out, and then the cameras filmed them as they made the actual circles. It involved a lot of boards and ropes, but they knew what they were doing. ---
