I think Indiana Jones and The Rocketeer could be a good deal of fun.

Or

How about Constantine, Hellboy, and Barnabas Collins?

I found my self with a entry for [Drop One Letter Off The Sign, And Change The Movie Title](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=307054), but it would be adding one, and dropping one, so it is going here:

BeatleStar Galactica.

Remember the cartoon shows like the Partridge Family, 2200 A.D, Gilligan’s Planet , Josie & the Pussycats In Outer Space, and [LIMOZEEN “but they’re in space!”](http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/best_thing)?

Well, this could be a sequal to the Beatles cartoon, crossing over into a BattleStar cartoon. It could either be serious like the Star Trek cartoon, or goofy like the Beatles’ cartoon and the movie “Help”.

SUPERMAN #775 had him fight Manchester Black and the Elite, which is a thinly-disguised Authority analogue.

I’d sure have a tough time justifying a Batman-Wins-If-He’s-Prepared scenario with him fighting a bioengineered double-hearted Midnighter, that’s for sure.

I really want _CSI:Miami_ to feature a pair of older, wiser vice detectives for a couple of episodes… “Crockett, Tubbs…I’m Horatio Kane. What can you tell me about the deceased?”

I also fully expect to see Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas put in cameos on the new _Battlestar Galactica_, maybe just passing Commander Adama in the hallway, glancing at each other, and shrugging as they walk on.

Darn skippy. First round to the Midnighter. Assuming Midnighter’s refraining from killing Bats for whatever reason, Batman might well manage an escape before total defeat. Second and subsequent rounds - uncertain. Midnighter’s primary advantage is his tactical computer - though his extra strength and agility don’t hurt none. If Midnighter brags, as he often does, about his tactical implants, and Batman escapes - well, let’s just say expect Brucey to come back with an appropriate countermeasure.

The Midnighter’s screams of terror as his tactical computer begins to play reruns of Diff’rent Strokes inside his head … _shudder_

Or worse for a gay man: some sort of psychic trigger that stimulates the pleasure center of Midnighter’s brain every time he looks at women.

I was born with the condition and sometimes I can’t handle it.

> I just had this happy little picture in my head of Jack and the Blakeneys going to the same events in England, inviting each other to their dinner parties, Percy giving Jack hints on subtlety, Jack letting slip some naval secrets to Percy so that the latter could pull off the Pimpernel disguise more easily, Marguerite dancing and flirting with both of them all night, but always going home with Percy and leaving Jack more than a little confused.

Alas, Jack was only about 16 in 1791. \*Master and Commander \* is set in 1801, when Jack was a young Lieutenant.

The crossover I dreamed up, following a remark years ago on USEnet, was \*Modesty Blaise \* crossed with _Gor_. Modesty and Willie collapse on a street in London, and wake up in the middle of a desert on Gor. They have his knives, her kongo, and the clothes on their backs. They proceed to shake the tarnsmen up.

I never wrote it, because writing is hard work, but it is fun to dream up scenarios like that.

You remember correctly. It’s reprinted as part of [Planetary: Crossing Worlds](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1401202799/qid=1110946953/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/103-0351094-3859867)

**ricksummon** , **Askia** , and anyone else who has mentioned a variation on “John Constantine becomes the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher,” [it’s already been done](http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=camwyn&keyword=Hellblazer:+Hogwarts&filter=all), and the result, thus far, is pretty darn good. [John’s List: Things I am Not Allowed to Do at Hogwarts Any More](http://www.livejournal.com/users/camwyn/305911.html) in particular is howlingly funny.

I must contradict our esteemed Indie-comics Geek. Crossing Worlds has Planetary/JLA and Planetary/Authority, but not JLA/Authority - unless! The Planetary/Authority story includes a cameo by the JLA. It’s the only one of the three in that collection that I haven’t read.

I think the highlight of that volume was Planetary/Batman, by far. Of course, keeping John Cassaday on art didn’t hurt.

How about a pulp-era League of Extraordinary Gentlemen with Indiana Jones, Doc Savage, the Shadow, the Rocketeer, and Sky Captain? Of course, Warren Ellis already did something similar in Planetary, with Doc Brass’ crew from #1 and #5.

The best Hellboy crossover, IMO, was Batman/Hellboy/Starman, by James Robinson and Mike Mignola.

I’d also like to see a Danger Girl/She-Spies/Charlie’s Angels (movie version)/V.I.P. crossover. The winner? The fans!

I played this scenario out in a session of HERO at Origins last year. Indiana Jones, Doc Savage, the Shadow, Mandrake the Magician, Lord Greystoke, Nancy Drew (!), and the Saint. I got to be Indy!

_Bob and Bing’s Excellent Adventure_ just because it would be so horribly, horribly wrong.

Bill and Ted _On the Road to Morocco_, on the other hand, would just be lame. Maybe _Bill and Ted and Abbot and Costello and Frankenstein and the Werewolf and Dracula and Buffy the Vampire Slayer_ …

WAH! :smack: You’re right. That’ll teach me to be participating in a Planetary thread on another board at the same time I was posting here and getting my mental wires crossed. (not that that’s terribly hard to do these days)

I do like the idea of being the SDMB’s “esteemed Indie-comics Geek” so at least my post was not in vain. 🆒

I just watched \*\*\*Mary Poppins \*\*\* for the first time ever today – and I couldn’t help but wonder if she’d been trained at Hogwarts, which opens up all sorts of possibilities for her backstory. You just know she was a practically perfect prefect. Imagine if she returned to Hogwarts to teach…
