Crossword Clue Game

Can each clue writer explain these entries?

There’s a Guitar manufacturer based in Toronto called “Frank.” I thought if I’d heard of it, it must be pretty well-known. Maybe not Gibson, but I’m not a guitar player, nor any kind of musician, so I really figured it must be something people knew about.

Oh, and the “Supported John” makes sense to me: Sen. Frank Church gave the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in 1960.

But, probably not everyone can name all the Democratic keynote speakers from the 20th century, in order, like my father could, and some of it rubbed off.

So many good choices and I learned a few things, but I’ll go with the RHPS reference.

Take it away @Spoons!

Right idea, but wrong Frank. I was actually thinking Sinatra, who supported JFK in 1960. But Church works too, so there you go.
