Breaking news - huge outage/interruption created by Crowdstrike problem (July 2024)

Sys admins all over the world are having (or are about to have) a very bad Friday and a very long weekend. The short (preliminary) version is that it looks like Crowdstrike (whose software is supposed to detect and prevent cyberattacks) pushed out a flawed update which now prevents affected machines from booting. Anyone else affected by this Microsoft Outlook outage?

I work for one of the largest federal agencies and haven’t been able to sign on to work for the past 1.5 hrs. Fortunately, the Dope and all of my time-wasters seem unaffected! Just weird, tho, when something like this happens, and it is made clear how potentially vulnerable our reliance on certain technolgy can be.
