If they dropped the nut in front of traffic, then the cars would crack the nut, but the crows then had to dodge cars. The crows figured out that they should drop the nuts in a crosswalk and wait for the light.)

Yep. Crows, [dolphins](http://www.independent.co.uk/news/dolphins-that-kill-their-young-make-mockery-of-playful-image-1167111.html), [chimpanzees](http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-29237276), humans - there definitely is a correlation between intelligence and assholery.

'Course, that doesn’t explain Michele Bachmann.

Here in my mobile home park there is an ongoing war between crows and mockingbirds. The crows get chased out by the mockingbirds, but I get the feeling the crows are sort of humoring them as they fly off casually, almost cheerfully, and come back after a few minutes. The mockingbirds take the whole thing a bit more seriously, and I feel a little sorry for them. The crows seem to be doing the mocking.

While we’re on the subject of crows – does anybody know what that sound is they make with their beaks? It sounds a bit like a woodpecker, kind of a rattling sound.

> Heckle and Jeckle are postwar animated cartoon characters created by Paul Terry, originally produced at his own Terrytoons animation studio and released through 20th Century Fox. The characters are a pair of identical anthropomorphic yellow-billed magpies; they were voiced at different times by Sid Raymond (1947), Ned Sparks (1947–51), Roy Halee (1951–61), Dayton Allen (1956–66) and Frank Welker (1979).

Haven’t thought about them in decades until this thread.

Dude. That is impressive. Of course I note that by underhandedly putting in ten years of work to apply knowledge to the problem, he gets to do a TED talk and I don’t. But I planned to use my crow army for gain, while he wants to train them to clean up the world, so who’s the real winner here?

Crows are AWESOME! I work at a university and I’ve spoken, in person, to the campus corvid expert. Found out some fascinating things about those birds. I love 'em!

It’s simple, but devious. All you have to do is train crows to bring you _Joshua Klein_. Muhahahaha!

My twin brother and I dressed in home-made Heckle and Jeckle costumes for Halloween one year when we were small.
