Hi, just thought I’d duck in & introduce myself - 1.a.) Longtime lurker, having gotten my 'umble start as a Straight Dope reader… Found my way into the Pit one day (which is pretty much the only sdmb forum I frequent, it’s so much fun) thanks to a Threadspotting link on Cecil’s page, & the rest is history. 1.b.) I write WAYY too much & am a bit of a perfectionist, so even a simple post/ preview/ edit/ lather/ rinse/ repeat (such as this one) may take me hours… so I’m mainly sticking to lurking. 2) OK OK, about **me** : 39-and-holding SWM, aerospace engineer in N.Calif. Closet computer nerd - by **necessity** _only_. Into photography, drawing, jazz & blues, skiing (snow & water), auto racing, and traveling in Europe on my vacations (call me rick steves jr.)(but not to my face). 3) Hi, Opal! 4) Am a huge Monty Python, Simpsons, & Family Guy fan. The rest of TV is sh!T even if I do watch a lot of it… 5) Mango Chutney 7) Sorry for giving you my whole life story, I know that violates rule#2… but too bad! Well there’s a start! Not that I’m oversensitive to being flamed by someone, but still… having said that, though, I admire your spunk! Your Dope Slaps dont bother me, as I can experience **the ultimate price** almost anytime I go to my brother’s! (which is much worse, believe me!) And I write far more than you do, even without quoting the entire post that I’m responding to! Sometimes this may not be true, of course, but sometimes I feel that I do! Hahahaha… 😃 ---

**pZott** and **Flamsterette** , please do not go back and forth in here. This is MPSIMS, we do not flame each other here. We flame in the Pit. Besides, the thread is long enough with me and the welcomers going back and forth with the newbies, that if the newbies starting going back and forth, I’d just get too damn confused. Even a post such as _that_ one? C’mon, be honest, you cranked that post out in 30 seconds. O.K. so I’m not technically a newbie but I’ve never been technically welcomed either. You said a little about ourselves so here goes. I’m from the Seattle, Washington area where we have crappy weather and ridiculously expensive coffee. I am married with 4 children, ages 14, 12, 10 and 5.
