And it’s totally ridiculous to say it belongs “solely to the Democrats” went the Republicans couldn’t even get 50 votes on their own without Democratic help. Several Republicans voted against the bill along with most of the Democrats. Further, Chuck Schumer offered Trump to pay for the wall in exchange for the DACA deal supported by both parties, and he rejected it. ---

Everyone gave some and took some. However, did you blame the Republicans on the last shutdown in 2013? Where were your pretend screams of rage over soldiers not getting paid? Did you forget that your Orange Idol is a draft dodger? Did you forget his disrespect for POWs? How about when he was so glad about not having to get a Purple Heart “the usual way”? Must have been a hell of a comfort to the legless soldier hearing that. ---

Incidentally, I have to qualify that if no deal is made by February that then the military can be without a pay check, but I can not see the Republicans to be that foolish, but then IIUC there was an attempt by the Democrats to fund the military with a measure that was shut down by the Republicans just because they need to keep their bargaining CHIPs. ---

My daughter’s fiance is in South Korea now in the Army. He told her tonight that Trump said Democrats were fighting to keep the military from getting paid because they care more about illegal immigrants than our own service members. Where is he getting this notion do you think? ---
