“That wasn’t chicken!” No, I’m joking. I didn’t get that, but I did once get a fortune that said " You win!" and I said “what the…?” As an aside, IRT there was an attempt by some marketing companies to insert corporate ads into fortune cookies. I believe there was ‘test marketing’ done in the Seattle area where people opened their cookies and found messages like “Drink Starbucks Coffee.” Apparently, people became livid and in some cases violent. (Folks take their fortune cookies seriously.) I don’t have a cite ready, am looking for one online. Anyone else ever hear about this? ---

For years, until I lost it, I kept with me: “Your many talents attract people. Be sure to use them.” I’m sure “them” was meant to mean the talents, but I prefer the alternative reading, which effectively sums up my philosophy of life. ---
