Struggling with this one, I even tried to look up a term for having a single nostril, with no luck. Not got anything for the jeweler bit either - unless it’s an anagram of RATNER + I? Posting in case this might help someone else, and/or to get a hint please. ---

The “single” part isn’t that significant. The answer is a synonym for “nostril” that sounds like a synonym for “jeweler.” I must confess I only found out about that word recently. It’s not a common word, but probably as common as LYSE. ---
