That’s the challenge of anagrams. They’re easy to get. The trick is to masquerade them as normal words in a clue, but all the solver has to do is match the length of certain clue words to the answer’s length. ---

Agreed - although in this case, “unforgetting animal” immediately made me think of elephant, and it was only then I spotted the anagram. What do you think of this as an alternative: “Confused the plane with a jumbo”? ---
