# Crystal Menth?

Whilst talking to a friend of mine, she brought up the fact that she had seen a billboard talking about menthol cigarettes. Apparently the billboard said if you had smoked menthols for a certain number of years, your lung tissue was “crystalized” and beyond repair. Is there any truth to this?
P.S. Anyone who is over three years old and not an employee of Phillip Morris knows that cigarette smoking is less than healthy, so don’t waste time telling me that.

I think there may be some confusion in terms here. It’s _crystal meth_ not _crystal menth_. Crystal meth is an illegal drug derived from methamphetamines.
I also found a study [http://aacr.edoc.com/cep/v7n11/ce000967.html](http://aacr.edoc.com/cep/v7n11/ce000967.html) that mentioned a cigarette called Eclipse made by R J Reynolds. This cigarette had a filter that contained glass fibers and particles which were inhaled into the lungs.
And I found a study [http://www.acs.ohio-state.edu/units/research/archive/smoking.htm](http://www.acs.ohio-state.edu/units/research/archive/smoking.htm) that indicated that menthol cigarettes may be more dangerous than regular ones. This was not due to any inherent danger in the menthol, but was attributed to increased inhalation during menthol smoking.

Sorry, but I don’t see the lungs as a good environment for crystallization of ANYthing.
