Maybe I should have been paying more attention, but this episode basically lost me about half way through. It might have been Sara taking a shower, but I suspect it was the reverse storylines that boggled my mind. Did it serve any purpose other than to be “cool”? It didn’t seem to me there was any story element that wouldn’t have worked if the stories had been shown in chronological order.

Did they ever establish that the weightlifter had killed the hooker? It seemed to be a pretty long trail of suppositions to me.

For that matter, did they ever prove the promoter killed the model? The motive seemed essentially non-existent.

How did they know which student was the dead kid from reading the school directory?

And was it just me or was this episode particularly gross?

Part of the point was that the stories were not sequential. They were pretty much happening concurrently. That is why the passing conversations in the hallway. They acted as bridges from one case to the other. It was showing what their days were like, with everyone busy. I liked it, as a change of pace. It would not be good every week though.

They never even found the hooker’s body. It was left up in the air as to whether he killed her or not. But since he was dead, the resolution was not real vital.

The model was killed by her boss, not the motorhome promoter. Revenge for pissing off the promoter and losing his business.

My guess is, the directory had pictures of the students. Upscale private school, probably small pictures, good enough to get an idea, not good enough for positive ID.

I liked it. TWoP likes to snark in their recaps that when they approach the 48 minute mark, whatever conversation they’re having with a suspect must be the one that breaks the case.

The first time the show rewound I was confused, but I really enjoyed this episode. I missed one tie-in…when Gil was getting a closer look at the blood on the fence, some police cars roared by, sirens blaring. Were they going to the dead boy on the bench?

His lunch card had his name on it. Nick was able to use the directory to get his home address.

No, they were arresting the kid who had just tried to rob the Asian man’s market.

I really loved the episode. I thought it was an interesting idea to break each story apart instead of having them all happen in real time. It was a bit like watching a series of vignettes all happening simutaneously but told separately.

I liked it, but I wouldn’t want to see it every week. It was interesting to follow one case from beginning to end, without hopping over to another case somewhere in the middle.

I am a fan of horror movies and gore in general, but the brain ooze from MoldMan totally creeped me out. It was like good old-fashioned _X-Files_ Black Oil … only ewwier.

I liked it, even though I’m more of a fan of the big cases where the whole team used to work together on one crime, before the reign of Ecklie. I thought the bridging scenes were very well done in terms of consistency. I’ll welcome the occasional gimmicky episode every once in a while. Hodges got a few good ones in, too. He’s my favorite lab rat.

That was one elliptical preview for the next episode.

I couldn’t watch that. When the coroner’s finger went to the eye, I got all oogy like I always do during traumatic eye descriptions, and I looked away. So I completely missed why Greg and Sarah had to be rushed to the showers.

Oh, and why weren’t they segregated from each other? Yeesh, put up a curtain or something.

The mold that killed Mr. Weightlifter Guy was hazardous enough that Doc Robbins didn’t want to take chances, and immediately called out the HAZMAT team when he discovered the cause of death. Having come into contact with the body, and having been in the house for who knows how long, Greg and Sara had to be immediately decontaminated.

They were in a little “travel-sized” decontamination tenty-thing, so there may not have been room. Or, the writers could have taken pity on Greg and finally let him see Sara naked. 🙂

OK, I’m not the sharpest tack in the crayon box (Huh? Yeah, whatever)

Was it just me, or were all of the cases tangentally related?

Nick - the dead boy found by the Hooker
Sara & Greg - The Hooker killed by the Body Builder
Katherine & Warrick - The girl who found the Body Builder was the late worker at the Expo where the Promo Girl was found dead.
Gil - The carjacker took the car from the couple who was at the Expo.

Did I miss something or was there some relation between the carjacking and the dead boy (Nick’s case). Maybe the boyfriend was in the SUV or the friend or in the other car?

With the odd way of filming (all the “rewinds”), it seems to make sense (in some weird way) that the whole thing was a circle of tangents.

I’m pretty sure the hooker who found the dead boy was a different woman than the hooker killed by the bodybuilder. The bullet tissue and blood needed more than a few hours to spread mold through the house. I think Nick’s case was the only one not tangentially related.

Yeah, all the others had something to do with the car expo that was going on. I didn’t see any connection between Nick’s case and the expo.

The Asian customer at the laundromat who complained to the manager (thus causing said manager to leave the laundromat unattended) was the same Asian shopkeeper at whose store the two punks from Grissom’s case were arrested. These were the two punks (1 Cent & friend) that stole the Hummer.

It reminded me of that episode of The Simpsons, with the same day’s events told from 3 different POVs (Homer, Lisa, Bart) – Linguo the robot, Bart and the illegal fireworks, Homer cuts off his thumb.

It was also a way of getting all the regular into the episode despite the fact that they’re no longer all working on the same shift for the same supervisor.

The implication that the taqueria guy went happily back to making tacos with the same knife he used to stab one of his would-be muggers is really nasty, to say the least. Not that it didn’t make me want some carnitas right then and there, but ick.

In what previous episode did Debra Wilson appear as a hooker? I recall something about a car and an underpass, maybe. And her flirting with Warrick, but who wouldn’t really?

Didn’t it seem like the “deductions” used to solve these cases was incredibly thin?

Fact: A bullet was found in a wall with human blood around it.

Deductions: The bullet came from the weighlifter’s gun because it was a 9mm.
So the weighlifter must have shot and killed somebody.
He was egotistical so he must have sex with hookers.
So he must have brought a hooker to his house and shot her after she mocked him.
So if we find a hooker who’s been reported missing, the weightlifter must have killed her.

Fact: A woman was murdered.

Deductions: Her boss yelled at one of his employees.
Her boss thought the dead girl was getting too old to work for him.
The dead girl had annoyed one of his important customers.
So instead of doing something like firing her, he killed her.
And then set up his important customer.

I missed the first rewind, so when I saw the soon-to-be-carjacked couple right as they were named the winners of the raffle where they won the SUV in the first place, I was a little confused. I thought the episode was going to be about this couple rigging lotteries all over Las Vegas to win valuable prizes.
