It’s funny; the gore in “CSI” doesn’t bother me in the least, not one whit. That bloated green dud in the bathtub floating in his own slime? I didn’t even flinch.

But I can’t watch two seconds of those operations shows on TLC before I flee the room in horror.

I didn’t think it was as bad as the episode where the guy went through the meat grinder.

So, was it ever determined what made the couple kill their victims in the first place? Were they just plain crazy?

And, um, why did we see lush lawns and big deciduous trees in the outdoor shots? Have the producers ever been to Vegas? Most of my extended family lives there, and I can tell you that most people have stone gravel “lawns” and palm trees around their homes. Any deciduous trees are small.

And why was Grissom wearing a long-sleeved jacket if it was supposed to be 125 degrees that day, which is hot even for LV standards?

Grrrr.

Because I can’t let it rest: notice the yard and trees in [this](http://www.aaaresults.com/MyHomeDtl.asp?lstPages=1&HomeID=105749) picture. This is typical.

…And yet I can suspend my disbelief enough to accept that you can look at two fingerprints for a couple of seconds and tell they’re a match. Go figure.

That is why it is good to be able to say, "It’s just a TV show and that green brain probably smells like paint the prop department didn’t get entirely dry before it was needed for the scene. That way I can remain comfortably lost in my Marg Helgenberger fantasies.

I dunno–he’s been walking with the gait of a fat guy with short legs. As a fat guy with short legs I’m glad I don’t have to watch myself walk.

And is Greg turning ito everybody’s favorite character, at least after lust is removed from the equation. Though he’s a nice looking gent and I couldn’t blame anybody…

Okay. I’m a big CSI fan. I remember watching the very first episode live. Live? Er, uh…you know what I mean.

Anyway, for whatever reason, most of last season passed right by me. I have no recollection of most of my Thursday nights from last year. That’s not the point.

One of the few episodes I did see was the one with all of the magicians in it. If you remember the very last scene, the Evil Magician ™ was in the process of escaping when the season ended. I was so hoping for a serial repeat offender.

Why? CSI needs an arch villian - the adversary of Grissom. Lot’s of chess analogies.

In the first season, we had the special effects guy who was Chromosomally Challenged ™. That ended in a lame way with his suicide. We also had the missing girl and her boyfriend. But they were killed, too.

Then last season the Evil Magician ™. I was so hoping for the first scene of this season to be of the magician escaping.

But we had the serial killers.

These are all excellent ideas for repeat offenders throughout the show, I feel.

What is everyone else’s take on this?

Another great reason to have the Evil Magician return is to see William Petersen and Tom Noonan acting together again, giving me more **Manhunter** moments. Which is also why I’m not so opposed to the beard. Petersen’s also a little bowlegged and I think he has arthritis in his knees, which might explain part of his current gait.

Yeah, I remember the magician guy and kept expecting them to go somewhere with it but they never did.

Also from last season; remember the one where the guy was executed for killing a woman on a college campus? If you remember, they found out near the end that the guy who was executed was just a copycat killer and the _real_ killer was still out there (and even killed someone else during the episode). They never went anywhere with that one either.

Finally though, wasn’t “special effects guy” (sorry, can’t remember his name) in both first and second seasons? I thought they didn’t end that particular plotline until second season.

In some of the older neighborhoods you get a bit more green than in the newer neighborhoods, like around Summerlin. There’s a nice neighborhood off of Vegas Drive (the neighborhood where Siegfried and Roy live) which is quite green.

Last night’s viewing made me flinch AND wretch, but I consider that part of the fun! However, I didn’t find the pitcher dipping to be particularly realistic because of the lack of face masks.

It’s the only show that I even somewhat try to watch each week. Of course it’s formulaic, but it works for me…as do ALL of the CSI guys. Like, Grrrrrr! Bill Petersen is a hotty in my book - pudgy or no. In fact my favorite episodes are where he mixes it up with Lady Heather.
