Hi, all. Here I am! I spent the whole weekend nearly finishing moving so I didn’t have time to write. Next weekend is the weekend of the moving van, so we’re almost there. Yesterday I was at a golf tournament for a fundraiser for work. Talk about BOR-ing. I had to sit at one of the holes and try to hawk raffle tix. Only, I was at hole 17, and they had another person selling tix at hole 15. So by the time they got to me, they were completely uninterested and usually tapped out. I was there until probably 7 PM or so. At least the day was gorgeous! ---

But I’ve more or less forgotten everything I read, so assume I gave you proper reponses to stuff. 🙂 **Doggie** , I think it was you who asked where I’m going–I’m going to Amsterdam for nine days. I will have a computer, a wireless connection, and a camera. I cannot guarantee any of my posts will be terribly coherent, but I’ll give it my best shot. I just found out, though, that there’s a park somewhere outside the city (I don’t know how far, though) that has _free range monkeys!!!_ Monkeys! Right there in the park with you!! Monkeys you can _play with_!!! The downside is that they’re also monkeys who can pull your hair and poop on you and stuff, so we might skip that. 🙂 I so don’t want to work. I want to go on vacation. ---

Someone left two tablespoons of coffee in the pot this morning, and now, the printer is out of paper, evidenced by its falling silent in the middle of a small 50-page job. Paperless office? Haven’t seen one yet. Swampy lives it, and the rest of you probably do too - someone comes up with another acronym, and we have to print and save yet more copies of stuff. HIPAA, GLBA, SOX, SB1386, and now they add FFIEC - all with their own requirements for records management. Mash it all together and call it what it is - MIGR and AINE. ---

Ya know, this here Dope never ceases to fascinate me. I clicked on **gotti’s** link and read a _page_ of responses about sticks of butter. There is nothing we will not pontificate upon is there. 😃 I was envisioning more like those big pound blocks of butter when contemplating baby size in relation to butter. **Puggy** you mean babies will crawl up on your shoulder, drape themselves around your neck and lick you on the nose, like JoeDawg does? ---

I like it spelled “Clare” for St. Clare. Right now I am freezing lemon curd in one pan, and sweetened yogurt in another. I’ve just whipped both up with a fork. In a couple of hours (after they’ve achieved ice cream consistency) I’ll fold them together. I want to make more yogurt so I can do yogurt dips. I now categorically oppose buying yogurt for four dollars when I can make it for one-fifty. ---

Me, I went with names that are tried and true for my kids, Rachel and David. I am constantly appalled at some of the goofy spellings people are coming up with for traditional names these days, though; don’t they realize they’re condemning their kids to a lifetime of correcting every single person who ever tries to write their name down? ---

As a result, we have an intricate fault-tolerant, load-balanced, geographically diverse array of about 150 email servers. Looking at the server stats… we really could stand to add another dozen. At least I don’t have to worry about mops. 😛 OTOH, the place DH works at isn’t exactly a hotbed of technology - a “p-touch” label maker and the postage meter are about the most advanced devices they have - and their email needs are so sparse that they get by with Yahoo IDs. My name was very, very popular the year I was born. My mother regrets that, and so do I. But at least I’m not Jennifer. 🙂 Although everyone _calls_ me Jennifer, anyway. I’ve gotten in trouble for deliberately ignoring people trying to get my attention because they were calling me Jennifer. You don’t know my name, you don’t get my attention. I used to have a list of the things I would name my kids. Now, I don’t even know. Half the names I loved have gotten way too popular. I don’t ever want to name my kids something trendy. But I also don’t want to name them something boring. ---
