Yay for the **Cherry** family becoming tv stars! Are you moving to Beverly Hills? 😃 I have decided that I am allergic to dumb. I just dealt with an hour’s worth of dumb and I’m all twitchy and itchy. I wonder if Benadryl cures dumb. ---

Well, she still doesn’t seem to have it down. Gah. Oh, and I failed parallel parking, but passed the drivers’ test overall. I still don’t parallel park unless I have to. 😃 ---

I did the road test (which was not really roads, but a fake “town”). There was also The Killer Bush, which was a bush that remained deliberately untrimmed so the testing people could test you on the stop-creep-stop-creep you’re supposed to do at an obstructed intersection. When I’d finished (feeling pretty good about myself), the guy just told me to stop the car and follow him into the building. Without telling me anything else. So there I am, seventeen years and half an hour old (I was born at 9:02 a.m., finished my driver’s test at 9:35), Christmas Eve morning at the DMV with my somewhat-sleazy driving instructor (who Mom hired to teach me to parallel park and take me to the test because she figured if I failed, I wouldn’t cry in front of the instructor). The testing guy started filling out paperwork, and it was a full five minutes before I could bring myself to ask him if I’d passed. ---

Morning, all. Hey, **Rue**! How goes the animal handling er, vet assisting? Other random responses to MMP stuff: The day I got my driver’s license, I ended up driving to O’Hare airport, 3 times–to take 3 siblings back to college (I’m the youngest). And thereby I lost my anxiety re expressway driving… I once blew thru a stop sign and had to go to “driving school”. There I learned that my Inner Child had not listened to my Inner Adult and I had given in to an impulse. Oh, the late ‘70s-nothing like them for psycho-analyzing teen behavior! This nurse doesn’t drink coffee, ever(ok, if I were stranded in the Great White North and freezing cold and the only hot drink available to me was coffee, well-maybe then). Names for children (so many people think "baby names’–nuh-uh. That cute lil bundle o’ fun will someday be Chairman of the Board or the Greeter at Walmart. This requires much thought). Here are some of my favs: Simon Dwight Robert Johnathan Nathaniel Daniel Ian Peter Jane Elaine Eleanor (surprise!) Meredith Laura Emma Mary (unless you’re Catholic, then-enough already!) 🙂 MaryJane there are tons more–it’s hard to recall them all. More mulch spreading today and class-which means I need to read some stuff prior to. Today grad school starts (evening). \ ---

It’s Hump Day! \ I see that **Rue** did a drive-by - nice to see you! Can I have your autograph, **Ellen**? 😃 (Seriously, congrats! That’s tres cool!) We had a huge thunderboomer last night. It might do it again tonight! Mr Rebo hasn’t mowed the grass in the last two weekends - I’m trying not to nag. It’s looking a _lot_ shaggy. I tell him it’ll be harder the longer he lets it go - so far that strategy isn’t working… He deserved the time off, though. Last weekend he tore out the fireplace, and this weekend we went out and stuff… So with more rain, it will be a foot tall soon. I’m not nagging! Really! 😃 Ok - back to work. ---

Hi all! Well, my week has finally calmed down and I am (kind of) in control now - just getting ready to re-enter mild panic mode at the beginning of next week when my boss comes back from her holiday and finds a whole bunch of things to b\*tch about! Baby names - well, we have given it some thought, and so far, we have Scheherazade for a girl or Adam for a boy. Not very far advanced I know, but I think they are beautiful names! ---

[/QUOTE] For some reason, this cracked me up, I guess because the two names are on opposite ends of the spectrum. 🙂 I have no problem with unique or original names, especially when they actually _come_ from somewhere and weren’t just made up with some Scrabble tiles thrown up in the air. 😃 Just spell it right. Otherwise little Adym ends up having to spell his name for everybody. ---

[/QUOTE] I can guarantee you that it does not. I have been dosing Isa (chihuahua) with Benadryl because she is flea sensitive and just one bite will give her the world’s worst itchies. God love the little cutey but I am sure that she has only three brain cells. Two of them are directly connected to her ears and the other one handles all of the other brain functions. The Benadryl most assuredly has not caused that cell to enlarge or split or anything else that might indicate improved intelligence. Last night was Eye-talian Fried Chicken and yaller rice. It was good. Today is PR staff meeting at noon. Guess what’s for lunch? Chick-Fil-A!!! :rolleyes: Yo, **rue**!!! Good to read ya! There’s more but I have a ton of work to do today, so later. Today’s the big day! Guess who arrived early? Yes! Annoying Co-Worker[sup]TM[/sup], hereinafter referred to as AC, got here at 8:05, a whole 40 minutes earlier than usual. So she can get here on time, she just doesn’t want to. Late last night, AC snagged the Big Cheese and demanded to switch to the desk next to Nice Co-Worker (NC). She even called facilities and waited while he left the voice mail. I could hear NC’s soul scream of the damned from over here. Then I remembered that phone moves have to be scheduled at least a week in advance and only happen on Wednesdays. So, she doesn’t get to switch until next week at the earliest. Hopefully by then, our lead will have put a stop to it. Ha! If not, I’m thinking that this will just let everyone see how she really works that much sooner. We’ve been over here in our private enclave for years, with no one eavesdropping or watching us and all of that is about to change. Heh heh. NC and I remember very well what they’re like in an open environment, but AC has \*no \* idea. Mwa hahahaha! **swampy** , Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate [sup]TM[/sup] helps because it numbs the pain. Teh dumb is still there but you don’t care anymore. ---

Nothing like getting hacked off at City Council first thing in the morning. Several years ago, Columbus voted in a SLOST (special local option sales tax) - part of the money was to be used to build a public ice rink. The money is in the bank. The director of the Civic Center (where the Snakes play) is on record saying he has to turn away people every time there is a public skate and that he gets many more calls for ice than the Civic Center can accomodate due to other commitments. When there is ice, kids in youth hockey are going to play at 7 in the morning because the demand is so high. Projected figures show an ice rink would earn at least $165,000 more than it cost to run it the first year. In addition, the owners of the Snakes have said they will put up $200,000 to cover operating expenses if it doesn’t pay for itself. Guess what? The City still won’t build the damn thing. I hate the way this City is run. The Revenue Division just got caught out missing at least $250,000 in revenue from the landfill - the bills just didn’t get sent out, and it’s too late to collect on some of them. A closed landfill owned by the city is leaking into the Chattahoochee River, which is going to get us into a metric buttload of trouble with the EPA. The city can’t keep police officers because the pay scale is so low, but the incompetent and unqualified city manager makes over $100,000 a year. Sometimes I am so sorry we bought a house here. Hope everyone is having a better day than mine had started out to be. ---

**Snakes** raise a stink. As I understand SPLOSTs, if money is earmarked for a certain project then it _must_ be spent on that project because that’s what the voters approved raising the money for. If they have the money to build the ice rink, then have to build it. Start with letters to the editor, and contacting your state rep and senator. Maybe even the GA Department of Revenue. Plus, start getting parents of would be youth hockey players and ice skaters riled up. They all hate riled up parents. That’s who needs to flood meetings until they do what they are supposed to do. -swampbear (I love a good rabble rousing!) ---

I have a guide to Hershey, Pennsylvania. I prefer Green & Black’s chocolate, myself. You know, I’m hungry. Do I want curry or grilled cheese for lunch? And should I eat some of the one-pound milk chocolate with hazelnuts bar that Mr. Lissar was given at work? And maybe some of the frozen yogurt? Who said the main course was the important part of a meal, anyway. ---
