Why do people do this? Fill a cup with water, drink most of it, then pour it out only to fill it again? I’d understand it if the water was warm, but today a co-worker and myself did it at the exact same time with water so cold it hurt our teeth. I don’t do this. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody else do this. I think it’s just you and a few of your odd ball friends 😉 FTR, I’ll even drink _yesterday’s_ water. * * * –In high school, voted most likely to get stuck in a clarinet. ---

It’s cause they’re bored. Nervous habit. I’ve done similar things, although not that. I do it…because most of the times the first cup is kind of warm…the next cup is colder… Also I’ll do it at a strangers house just to make sure its rinsed… I pretend to sip it, but I pour it out and fill it up again. ---

You guys don’t do this? Wow. My whole family does it. My friends and the people I work with do it. It’s almost strange when somebody **doesn’t** do it. I mean, even if an ultra-hurry is involved, I catch myself and others, doing it. So, I’m going to have disagree with it’s connection to boredom. And DAYIUZ, I too drink yesterday’s water. My husband does something similar (not with water, though. He swears the only way he’ll drink water is frozen and surrounded by scotch), he’ll fill a glass with whatever he’s drinking, take a long pull, then re-fill it and drink the whole thing. I’ve asked him why he doesn’t just finish the glass, then pour more. He doesn’t know. I’ve always thought it was fairly bizarre. * * * Drink up, dear. I made it just for you. _sig by_ **WallyM7** ---

Because water is free… if it were $3 a glass I bet they wouldn’t do it.
