I get insomnia sometimes. My solution is usually considered weird, but it works for me.
Try staying awake through one full night. Do something to keep yourself occupied-- read books, play video games, watch TV-- it doesn’t matter what. Just stay awake and alert for the whole stretch.
Whenever I do this, I’m not quite at my best the next day, but I’m always tired enough to fall right asleep the following night.
Laugh hard; it’s a long way to the bank.
Sex.
Sex 'til you go deaf.
Sex 'til you hallucinate.
Sex 'til you’ve sprained every joint.
Sex 'til every muscle bursts into flame.
That oughta do the trick.
