Just as tomndebb was incorrect in saying there was misperception, you are incorrect in saying there was mischaracterization. The mods are the ones referring to Der Trihs’ posts as extreme, obnoxious, unsubstantiated, often leading to hijacks, and not adding to the discussion. They have also said that they do not see this as a problem, and are not going to try to prevent him from repeating the same behavior in other threads, providing he stops doing it after he is mod noted. So my post was accurate and correct.
I don’t agree; I think he was taking “Der Trihs always makes slurs” as a hypothetical, exactly as you were using it. He just noted that if all slurs are forbidden, then even hypothetical ones, even when the hypothetical case is nested two deep, would still be forbidden. If you can’t use them, then you can’t cite them, even as examples of things you can’t use.
